dolma’s Fall Launch Party at the Tasting Room in Atlanta, Sept. 29 6-9pm
September 29th, 2009Well, we could barely move at the Tasting Room tonight! Such a fabulous turnout from dolmates far and wide-there were barely any pieces on the mannequins-they were all on everyone’s necks, ears and wrists!
The event was thrown in conjunction with Wendy Babchin Designer Group, and benefitted Project Adventure Kids-a residential, not-for-profit program that has been improving homeless, neglected, abused, at-risk Georgia teen’s lives since 1981.
Wendy of Wendy Babchin Designer Group was glowing in the Lagoon Bracelet, Stacks Earrings, and the Page Necklace (wrapped 3 times around as a choker, with a vintage broach pinned to the center for a little extra glam).
Tami Gross, owner of The Tasting Room, picked out a few pieces for herself and her mother-including the New Gaza neckalce and the Barrels Necklace in Silver.
Donna Auchenbach, long-time supporter of Project Adventure Kids was welcoming guests, helping write orders, and shoeing clients some of her favorite pieces.
Other special guests included Deede Stephenson from Etcetera Clothing-she bought the Bamboo set in black; Leslie Petter with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra-she grabbed the Dharma earrigns in gold; Atlanta-based Pearl Stylist Liz Liston-sporting the Havana set in white and blue (she had first dibs earlier that day!); Alison Andrew from Beauty Becomes You Foundation-she’d been to the Launch Party at Library Coffee Company and wore one of the vintage pieces she’s purchased; and Larry and Rella Askenas, proud donors of vintage belt buckles and buttons that we used in numerous vintage designs, were also in attendance, and they got to see one man’s trash turned into another man’s treasure!
Great wine, fabulous pearls and a roomfull of happy shoppers…
Need I say more?
